Crafting Yearly Wins: My Playbook For Success

Confession: I'm a Serial Goal Setter

Every new year, I'm guilty of coming up with a list of 1001 things I want to achieve. Typically, my momentum often fizzles out QUICKLY. I have trouble achieving yearly wins.

Last year I did accomplish a few of my lofty goals. I had a BIG WIN.

I committed to the personal challenge of reading the entire Bible. While I didn't finish by December 31st, I got 95% finished...That is a WIN in my book and a reason to 'cue the confetti'.

This WIN inspired me to sign up again, but with a few tweaks. I want to walk into 2025 having acheived something MORE with my bible reading.

I want to DIVE DEEPER in the Word.

I want to READ WITH PURPOSE

I want it to be FUN…something I look forward to.

I want to give myself the GIFT OF GRACE along the journey.

MY PLAYBOOK FOR SUCCESS.

The Value of Values: A Powerful Approach

As a Coach, and in my Workshops, I stress the value of knowing our values. In order to build and maintain a habit or discipline, it is very helpful for it to be attached to core values.

I knew if I was going to do this bible reading again, I needed to attach it to some values. ACCOMPLISHMENT isn't a CORE value for me. I'm always tweaking, reshaping, rearranging, looking for the next best thing.

So, I decided to align my reading with some of my CORE values like Spirituality, Family, Relationships, and Connection.

Finding Purpose: Understanding the WHY

Leaving a LEGACY. I want to leave a legacy of my relationship with Jesus to my children and grandchildren. I want them to know my prayers and His miraculous responses, share the things I have learned, and those special AH-HA moments of revelation. So, as I read through the bible this year, I aim to leave a legacy through my notes, written prayers, and insights for my oldest daughter.

**NOTE: I won't do this EVERY day (life happens), but reading for the purpose of leaving a legacy for my children and grandchildren fulfills my values and answers my WHY.

Making it Fun: A Creative Bible Reading Experience

Oh My Gosh, reading the bible FUN? HECK YES. My new, fun approach involved a Bible with coloring pages and wide margins for notes, coupled with a reading plan by Bible Recap.

Give Yourself a Gift: The Gift Of Grace

Today is just day 3.

Missing days is expected. I've set a plumbline for myself and have the tools and accountability needed to get back on track.

I will miss out on some days, other days I will skim the surface, but I'm ok with that. I learned many years ago that His Grace is sufficient. If you'd like to learn more about how I give

myself the gift of Grace, check out my blog: 5 Steps To Guide You Into Grace.

Legacy-Building: Gifting the Journey

At the end of 2024, I plan to gift this personalized Bible to my daughter, making it a family tradition for each of my children. My hope is that someday, perhaps 30 years from now, she will still hold this bible, pages worn, maybe torn, with her own prayers and insights and gift it to her oldest daughter.

I will gift this bible to my daughter. Maybe throughout seasons of her life, she too will make notes in the bible, add her own thoughts and prayers and someday, pass it along to her daughter.

I have 4 children; Every year, a new Bible, new insights, and a renewed commitment to uncover the timeless treasures in God's Word.

MY NOTE OF INSPIRATION

To fellow moms, you might not have time to read the entire Bible in a year, and that's okay.

The purpose of this blog is to inspire you to:

  1. SET achievable goals,

  2. ALIGN them with your values,

  3. FIND purpose,

  4. HAVE fun,

  5. ESTABLISH your own guidelines, and most importantly,

  6. GIFT YOURSELF GRACE.

It's about success tailored to what truly matters to you.

Here's to a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN... an all-around WIN in 2024.

And Hey, My beautiful mom-friend...

You don't have to do the journey alone.

Perhaps you are READY to DISCOVER PURPOSE for the season of life you are in.

I have an IN-DEPTH coaching journey that will empower you to share your own stories of success in 2024.
